Abstract

The demands on educational institutions today are increasingly heavy. Schools are expected to be able to produce output that is able to meet the ever-changing needs of society. So, one of the important components in the world of education is educational supervision which must receive more attention. So, re-understanding the concept of educational supervision becomes very important. First, Islamic education supervision can be understood as professional guidance for teachers with all efforts that provide opportunities for teachers to develop professionally, so that they can better carry out their main tasks, namely improving and improving the quality of teaching and learning in the classroom. Second, in educational supervision, there is a theological basis, namely a religious basis which is the basis for moral ethics when carrying out the supervision process and a juridical basis, namely the basis of laws and other regulations which become the legal umbrella as well as technical guidelines in the supervision process. Third, supervision principles are divided into two groups, namely fundamental principles which are principles of Pancasila values and practical principles, including positive principles that must be implemented and negative principles, namely things that need to be avoided in the supervision process. And fourth, the toughest challenge of supervision is the bad culture in our society. Namely, supervisors are accustomed to using an inspective supervision model and school principals prefer to "play it safe" by providing a certain amount of compensation to supervisors. So it assumes that conditions at the school/madrasah are fine and do not require improvement.
