PEMIKIRAN PENDIDIKAN ISLAM MASA KHALIFAH UTSMAN BIN ‘AFFAN SERTA IMPLIKASINYA

Abstract

The Caliph Uthman bin Affan was the third caliphate whose appointment and election were so different from
the previous two caliphs. Caliph Uthman ruled for more than 12 years. During his reign, many changes and
developments took place, beginning in the political, economic, cultural and administrative fields. Similarly,
what became the phenomenal work of Uthman bin Affan is the rewriting of the Al Quran and famous called
nowadays as Mushaf Uthmanic. In addition, in the aspect of Islamic education, there are 2 policies taken by
the Caliphate, which is to free senior companions to leave Madinah and teach Islam in areas they like,
educational affairs are left to the people themselves, so that the people are responsible for the education. And
this article examines aspects of Islamic education from a historical perspective which will later become a good
reference for Islamic education in the future.
