Abstract

The current economic activity is a subject that is very difficult for students because they have the critical
thinking analytically to compare or distinguish what is called a domestic consumer and household roles
mnanufacturers. In fact the results of grade social 2 MA Negeri Tuban are 48 students who achieve only
40%. The lack of minimum completeness student achievement as expected is at 65% is due to the lack of
use of models of learning are adequate. The purpose of this research is to improve learning achievement
and students' understanding of the concept of current economic activity through market game simulation
methods. By using this simulation method the teacher can display symbols or equipment that replaces the
process, actual events or objects. This research is an action research (action research), because the research
carried out to solve the problem of leaming in the classroom. The results showed in the second cycle, the
score of student learning outcomes categorized as very good (48.83) with the average score reached 86.74.
This means an average score of leaming outcomes increased by 36.78. Conclusions from this research is
leaming simulation model on Economic Subjects (IPS) can improve student learning outcomes of X Social
2 of MAN Tuban.
