PROFESIONALITAS BERBAHASA INDONESIA SEBAGAI LANGKAH STRATEGIS MENGHADAPI MASYARAKAT EKONOMI ASEAN

Abstract

The ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) is a challenge for all countries, including Indonesia,
whether they want to or not, they will continue to face this global economy. The enactment of the MEA
has an impact on all aspects of the life of the nation and state. One aspect that cannot be separated from
the impact of the MEA is the linguistic field. Language must be able to exist in order to realize the
identity of the nation in order to compete with other countries. A strategic step that can be realized in
order to face the MEA is to realize language professionalism. Indicators of language professionalism can
be realized through two things: first, theoretical language professionalism; in the form of language
professionalism towards the concept of language and the concept of linguistic rules in the form of the ability
to understand and apply various linguistics. Second, practical language professionalism: the ability to
develop aspects of language skills and language productivity skills in the field of language and literature.
