INOVASI MANAJEMEN PERPUSTAKAAN DALAM MENINGKATKAN MINAT BACA SISIWA DI MA RIYADLOTUT THALABAH SEDAN TAHUN PELAJARAN 2023/2024

Abstract

Students’ interest in reading can be fostered through developing the school library, and the task of school
library managers is to be able to develop the library with their creative ideas so that it can attract
enthusiastic students. The author found several factors that hinder students’ interest in reading in the MA
Riyadlotut Thalabah Sedan library, including book collections that are less interesting, increasingly
developing technology that makes students prefer to look for information via cellphone rather than looking
for books in the library, and students are busy with school assignments and Extracurricular activities make
students have little time to read voluntarily in the library. Formulation of the problem discussed in this
research are the conditions of students’ in therest in reading, library management innovation, supporting and
inhibiting factors for students’ reading interest. This research uses a qualitative approach with descriptive
research and data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. As for
analyzing data, researchers used data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion making. Based on the
research results, it can be concluded that currently the reading interest of students at MA Riyadlotut
Thalabah Sedan can be said to be quite high. This can be seen from the enthusiasm of students in visiting
and reading books in the library. To increase innovation, librarians increase students’ reading interes in the
MA Riyadlotut Thalabah Sedan Rembang library by increasing the book collection every year, taking part
in librarian training, updating existing library services using the slim applications, aparat from using the
slim application the library uses acces to help visitors who have difficulty finding collections, arranging the
library space so that students are comfortable reading, and holding scientific paper writing competition. With
this library innovation, it can help increase students’ interest in reading.
