PERAN KEPALA SEKOLAH DALAM PENGEMBANGAN KURIKULUM DI SMP NEGERI 4 WATAMPONE
Abstract
This study aims to explore the role of the principal in curriculum development at SMP Negeri 4 Watampone, focusing on the strategies implemented to build effective coordination among curriculum development team members. Using a qualitative approach with a case study method, data was collected through observation, in-depth interviews and analysis of relevant documents. The results showed that the principal acts as a strategic leader who not only ensures that the curriculum meets educational standards but is also relevant to students' needs. Although there were challenges such as differences of opinion among team members, the principal managed to overcome these obstacles through a deliberative approach and organized communication. In addition, the establishment of a curriculum development team with a clear leadership structure and regular meetings was key in enhancing collaboration and collective commitment. This research provides important insights into good education management practices and effective strategies in curriculum development and their contribution to improving the quality of learning in schools.
