PENINGKATAN KEDISIPLINAN GURU ASN DENGAN MENERAPKAN FACE RECOGNITION (ABSENSI PENGENALAN WAJAH) DI SMA NEGERI 1 PAMOTAN REMBANG

Abstract

This research is motivated by the need for an attendance system that is more accurate, efficient, and not easily manipulated in order to improve the discipline of ASN teachers at SMA Negeri 1 Pamotan. Previous attendance systems such as manual signatures and fingerprints were considered less than optimal because they were prone to fraud and data inaccuracy. The purpose of this study is to describe the implementation of face recognition as an attendance system and analyze its impact on the discipline of ASN teachers. This research uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods, through observation techniques, in-depth interviews, and document studies. The results showed that the use of the face recognition-based Sinaga application had a positive impact on improving teacher discipline. Attendance is recorded in real-time and integrated with performance appraisal systems such as Employee Income Supplement, thus motivating teachers to be present on time. The system also reduces paper usage and improves administrative efficiency. Although there are technical constraints such as network disruptions or face detection errors, these can be overcome through training, periodic system maintenance, and emergency policies. In conclusion, the face recognition-based attendance system is effective in creating a culture of discipline and transparency in the work environment of ASN teachers and has the potential to be adopted by other educational institutions.

 

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kebutuhan akan sistem absensi yang lebih akurat, efisien, dan tidak mudah dimanipulasi dalam rangka meningkatkan kedisiplinan guru ASN di SMA Negeri 1 Pamotan. Sistem absensi sebelumnya seperti tanda tangan manual dan fingerprint dinilai kurang optimal karena rawan kecurangan dan ketidaktepatan data. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan implementasi face recognition sebagai sistem absensi dan menganalisis dampaknya terhadap kedisiplinan guru ASN. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif, melalui teknik observasi, wawancara mendalam, dan studi dokumen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan aplikasi Sinaga yang berbasis pengenalan wajah berdampak positif terhadap peningkatan kedisiplinan guru. Kehadiran tercatat secara real-time dan terintegrasi dengan sistem penilaian kinerja seperti Tambahan Penghasilan Pegawai, sehingga memotivasi guru untuk hadir tepat waktu. Sistem ini juga mengurangi penggunaan kertas dan meningkatkan efisiensi administrasi. Meskipun terdapat kendala teknis seperti gangguan jaringan atau kesalahan deteksi wajah, hal tersebut dapat diatasi melalui pelatihan, perawatan sistem berkala, dan kebijakan darurat. Kesimpulannya, sistem absensi berbasis face recognition efektif dalam menciptakan budaya disiplin dan transparansi di lingkungan kerja guru ASN serta berpotensi untuk diadopsi oleh institusi pendidikan lainnya.
